It is often misquoted to read: "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he," doubtlessly to make it easier to understand and grasp the principle of.

Therefore, your predominant thoughts shape your life and your world.

To get it working in your life, you need to start by taking greater control over what is going on inside your head. You need to harness your thoughts so they work in your favor and not against you (as they do for most people).

Un-cluttering Your Mind

Thoughts are things! They exist, are made of energy and can even be measured using the latest instruments. It therefore makes sense to make sure that your thoughts are of what you want and not of what you don't want!

The first step to achieving an effective method of thinking is to first clear your mind of all the clutter that's currently clogging it up. Believe it or not, your head is so full of stuff that is constantly being fed into it from external sources that you likely rarely if ever have a chance to do any real, meaningful thinking.

The reason for this is simple. We are all exposed to the world around us through our five senses. We see, hear, smell, taste and touch a variety of different things all the time and the information is constantly being processed by our brains so that it's always kept pretty busy.

What we mistake for thinking is not thinking at all, but just that busy data processing happening that keeps our minds occupied. We're not really thinking at all, our minds are just busy!

To clear your mind so that you can start to think for real, you need to stop all that external "noise" from bombarding your mind. The best way to do that is through physical and mental relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation.

Practice Makes Perfect

Once you have quietened your mind, it naturally clears and allows space for true, meaning thinking to start happening. It starts slow at first, but the more you practice mental quieting techniques, the better you will get at doing it.

Once you have learned to think clearly and naturally for yourself in ways that are not influenced by external stimuli, you will begin to be able to formulate your own ideas and plans for improving your life.

Again, it won't all come at once, you have to work at it. But in time, you can generate ideas that may at any time light a bulb in your head that could turn out to be a million dollar idea!

You don't have to do anything of course. You can choose to stay the same as you are now and continue to allow life to control what you think and how you live.
